First day of school.... a little late

I am SO behind in blogging right now! I just can't keep up. It might have something to do with the fact that we continue to go on trips and the few days I am home, I am doing laundry, cleaning, and trying to keep  my head above water. I have many overdue blog posts and I do intend to get to them. However, the first day of school cannot be put off any longer and it is an easy one (meaning I don't have 500 pictures to choose from, like some of our other adventures!).

Hailey began am kindergarten with Mrs. Pringle this year. There has been all sorts of craziness with Kindergarten - initially we thought she was in pm because they sent us a letter telling us that. Then, all three kindergarten teachers left Sawyer Woods and either took full time positions or leave of absences! We got another letter stating that now she is in am kindergarten and her teacher is officially a substitute until they hire one officially. It may be Mrs. Pringle, and it may not. I'm glad that Hailey is very easy-going and excited about kindergarten, regardless of all this.

We were way more rushed than I would have preferred for our first day, and I was getting over being sick the day before, so I didn't get many pictures - and none without their sweaters on, covering their cute outfits on this rainy day! They each picked out what they wanted to wear.

Hailey has the hardest time giving me a normal smile these days... I usually get something like this one.

And here is the last shot I got of her, walking into her room.

Symantha began third grade in a little bit of a rough way. Two days before school started, she got bee stings on her eyebrow and between her right thumb and pointer finger (her writing hand). They didn't swell up too bad, until the morning that school started. She was crying and unsure if she even wanted to go because she was so swollen you could hardly recognize her - we felt so bad for her! We gave her the choice of going, because her hand was also so swollen we weren't sure she could even write. But of course she wanted to go... she had been so excited for school to begin!

So, here are her pictures, and this is not even when it was at it's worst! Poor girl. I had to come later in the day to give her more benadryl, and it looked even worse than this.

Luckily, she still had a great day at school, and didn't get teased or anything.

Derek and I left the school with only Addison, and she was not happy about it.
She kept saying, "But where's my sisters??"
It took some time to convince her that we would pick them up later.
This might be a bit of an adjustment for little Ms. Addi!

Poor Symantha, that looks painful. And Addison looks so sad missing her sisters. Glad it was a good day overall.

okay... where do I begin?!!! Crazy about all of the Kindergarten teachers... what's up at Sawyer Woods? Hope it's all working itself out by now. Oh and poor, poor Symantha! What a trooper! Wow, it really looks like the bees won that battle! And, finally, your picture of Addison was too, too perfect... her frown said it all!
