For Mom's birthday, Megan and I surprised her with a trip to Victoria, BC on the Clipper. We spent the night at Megan's and headed to catch the clipper at 7:30am, nice and early. Mom had never been to Victoria, so this was extra exciting for her! It turned out to be a gorgeous day, and it was filled with eating, shopping, exploring, napping (for Megan and I), laughing and more eating. Let me just say there was a lot of eating and it was almost all delicious, except for our last dining experience with "mushy oysters" which mom was having none of. Anyways, on to the pictures...
Here is who it was all about - cute mom on the street.
And on to the sights...
You can see the Clipper in this picture, docked on the other side.
I really do love Victoria, it's way more than the wax museum and high tea (which is the extent of what I thought was there, due to going there in girl scouts when I was about 7). Great shopping, eating and views.
However, Megan and I did get tired and had the greatest nap EVER on the lawn in front of what I think is some sort of government building.
Mom, aka the energizer bunny, did not need this nap and proceeded to keep walking the city until she found the treat she was after... popcorn. This was the view when we woke up from our nap.
Mom also has no qualms about posing for the camera - she totally cracked us up taking these shots.
And here is the three of us.
We didn't head back on the boat until around 7, returning to Seattle at 10ish.
There were some pretty beautiful views on the way back, but it got crazy windy so we were only out there for a few minutes. I blame the wind on the hairstyles displayed below:)
It was a great day and a great celebration of Mom!
