Little fish

The girls started taking swimming lessons at Swimmer's Lane in June, and I am a HUGE fan of this place. We had taken swimming lessons at the Community pool before, and it consisted of 5 kids, mostly sitting on the wall and accomplishing very little. So, although Swimmer's Lane is pretty expensive, it was totally worth it for the 3-4 months we did it. Hailey and Symantha LOVE to swim now, and they both have made amazing progress.

When Hailey first started, she didn't like putting her face in the water and would only jump in if you were holding her hand. Then she pretty much clinged to you the whole time she was in the pool. Now she jumps in with wild abandon, and has been working on the crawl and back stroke!

This is still Hailey below, working on her kicking. She always cracked us up with how she would breathe - she took in these big breaths with her cheeks full of air, everytime she went down into the water. We loved Ms. Brittney, their teacher.

They each went up a level during their lessons, which was very exciting for them. On Symantha's last day of class, they got to use flippers to help them go faster and practice their side breathing with the crawl stroke. She loved this, of course, and they flew across the pool.

And here Addison sits, waiting for her turn one day. They had a great closed in little kid play area, but she mostly liked to open and close the gate to it. We will definitely be coming back here to get Addi swimming when she gets a little older.
I would have loved to keep them swimming, but it was really expensive and the girls had already made so much progress. We are going to continue our family swim nights every week or so, which is much more affordable and a great family activity!

Great pics, especially for being at an indoor pool!
