A more cheerful post

I have been meaning to update since my last "horrible day" post, just so you didn't all think I had jumped off a bridge or something! Thanks for the nice comments, and from talking to some of you, I'm glad I could make you laugh... I can actually laugh about it now, as well. And of course, things did get better, despite sick kids for most of the last week. Nothing major, just an irritating cold that makes them cough and wake up during the night, but seem totally fine during the day. That kind of cold makes you unsure of whether to continue activities or not... are they sick enough to stay home from school? Too sick to go to swimming? We just continued most of our activities and have ended up having a pretty busy and fun last few days.

Hailey had her first swim lessons, which she loved! She did everything the teacher asked her to, even though I could tell she was a little nervous.

My brother, Blake, graduated from high school. I can't believe he is old enough to graduate, and it was a great celebration with family. Can't wait to see what his future holds!

I got to spend some time with this girl, who I love. Amy Jo is leaving for all sorts of great adventures this summer, as she serves the Lord and starts to use all those skills she has been learning in nursing school. Her blog is in my side bar and you should check it out in the months to follow, as she hopefully keeps us posted!

And I'm all excited about Farmer's markets lately. Even though it is early in the season, I went to the Mosby brothers farm on Monday and picked up a whole bunch of produce, along with a little magazine that tells of tons of farms and farmer's markets in our area. Can't wait to check some more out.

Oh, and we had a delicious barbecue at my Mom's house, where Addison discovered she wanted to collect every piece of sidewalk chalk in one big armful. This occupied her for a long time, and she was completely covered in chalk dust, as I sat and took pictures like a good mom should.

The color in the Addison picture is so good. Bright Red and your camera does it justice.
